"You know about Warby Parker, Casper Mattresses, and all the new companies that are coming out direct to consumer? I want to do that but with boots."

Tecovas founder Paul Hedrick came to us at Sputnik with this simple concept. He needed a great name and brand that would really exude the deep Texas roots that his line would be pulling from. He told us stories of going to Mexico to visit the Lucchese boot factory and seeing how hard everyone was working, and about talking with the factory workers about the quality.

After a bit of brand research, the top three one-word names were Bandera, Navasota, and Tecovas. Tecovas had that unique quality that many brands ache for, and the rest is history.  Paul and Tecovas are experiencing a tremendous amount of success and I am so proud that my company and team are a part of this.
We did a quick splash page as soon as a logo was decided on. A photo of the Palo Duro Canyon seemed to have the vast, wide-open vibe the client was going for.
A variation on the brand that incorporates the 'Fine Bootmakers' tagline into the mix. This is important early on with startups to further define what the actual product is.
